Pls send me an email at funmi@tvpadventures.com so I can put you in touch with the lawyers. I suggest you may want to go for a trademark application, at least.
I have built a product. The product itself is not new but I have changed some of it's input so that it gives a whole new experience. I am not sure if this is too vague but I would like advice on whether I can trademark this?
I have investigated patenting this but I have been told that I cannot patent it as the product itself exists and I am only introducing a new experience with this product. Perhaps my question is, is there anyway to protect this once it's out?
Thanks for the information, it was insightful. From your reply I see that you applied for a trademark. My question is why didn't you go for the copyright
I think you applied for trademark for your logo and other possible designs, and also design patent to register the design or structure of your invention.
We got a trademark. We could potentially get a design patent but we were not keen on it because it is simply cards. Pls send me an email and I will connect you to the lawyers.
Hi Ms Funmi Oyatogun, its so wonderul what you're doing and what you've done. Indeed, as I tweeted lastweek (and tagged you, you may have missed it), I do have an idea of a new game, it's called CHANCERY. The design would be out by next weekend unfailingly and I hope to send in the details of the whole thing. The only thing is I dont know what counts as UNDERSHARING or OVERSHARING so perhaps you'll help me in that regard.
Expect my mail next week ma'am and yes, I think you applied for patent.
Hello Castro. The first rule of sharing is that you have to comfortable with it. If you're not, you will resent divulging the information. If I can help with resources, pls send me an email. And congrats on your game.
Good afternoon ma'am, this is Castro, I once sent a DM on twitter and not that you should remember me and neither would you have been waiting for my response to the email you sent but out of courtesy, I apologize for the delay.
As I stated in the comment I made on the "patent, trademark" post, I do have an idea of a game and attached to this email is a PDF that explains the content.
I really do need help, anyone I can get.
For starters, I have no idea where you printed your cards. For another, I like that your game doesn't sell in NGN, that is one thing I would like clarity on, among other things.
I do not wish to be the proverbial fool that knows not the way to the city, thats why I'm here to ask you who have been there, done that!
Do have a productive day ahead as I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Alesh Joseph.

A game is not considered a literary, musical or artistic piece so a copyright won't be a fit for it.
From the explanations I think you applied for a patent for your design which is the game fill in the black
